New Reader Magazine is always looking for fresh perspectives and provocative new voices.
We pay our contributors for their work and partner with them to get their stories as they intended out into the world.
Right now we’re not looking to publish political op-ed pieces, although we’re not completely averse to historical details that might be considered political in a story. But mostly we want stories that talk about being human.
Investigative stories are welcome, as are memoirs and profiles, interviews, etc. of people who are doing interesting things and changing ideas all around the world—or even in small, secret towns.
We want fiction and poetry of all kinds.
As for art, we’re looking for something that tells a story or looks at ordinary things at strange, different angles. Photo essays, multimedia art, video, comics—all media is welcome. New Reader Magazine purchases First Electronic Rights for prose and poetry submissions to our quarterly journal as well as our website. Once your work has been published, all rights revert back to you. If you republish your work, please note initial publication in New Reader Magazine or NewReaderMagazine.com.
