Deadlines, an extended long weekend, and a cold have kept me away these past few days. My sincerest apologies, but as a one woman show, it’s been tough. Hopefully today’s long list of paid writing opportunities more than makes up for my absence.

Today’s list features lots of work from home writing jobs and calls for submissions open to writers anywhere. If online writing jobs aren’t your bag and you happen to be based in Canada, there are also some pretty great Canadian writing jobs across this big, beautiful country of ours.

Remote Writing Jobs (Work from Home Writing Jobs)

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT WRITERS – Elite Daily is looking for evening entertainment writers to contribute articles on celebrity culture and other entertainment-related topics. This is a part-time remote writing job. You must have 2+ years of reporting, writing, or blogging experience, a witty voice, and be able to work a 3-10 p.m. shift (ET), 3 to 4 days per week. Canadian Writing Jobs (On-site Writing Jobs in Canada)

EDITORIAL WRITER – TV Media is looking for writers to contribute weekly articles on TV, movies, videos, and entertainment news that will be syndicated across their print and online papers. To apply for this Canadian writing job you’ll need to pitch your story ideas. Read more/apply

CONTENT WRITER – Timeform in Halifax, NS is looking for a content writer to produce editorial content across all their channels, including website, App, social media, and more. Calls for Submissions

Crannóg Magazine – An Irish fiction and poetry magazine is published 3 times a year. Submissions will be open in March for their June issue and again in Jul for their October issue. Send no more than 3 poems. Each poem should be under 50 words. Send one story, which should be under 2,000 words. Pay is a contributor’s copy and €50 per story, €30 per poem.

The Drum – This literary magazine is open for poems and essays and short fiction under 5,000 words. You may submit up to 3 poems. Since this is an audio magazine, your poems and other work needs to thrive out loud. The Drum pays a $50 honorarium for work. And charge a $3 submission.
