Remote Writing Jobs (Work-from-Home / Online Writing Jobs)

FEATURES WRITERS (SPORTS GAMBLING) – theScore Inc. is hiring an experienced full-time features writer to create entertaining and valuable content to gamblers. This is a remote writing job that entails writing a daily email newsletter, articles, and hosting a sport wagering podcast. You’ll also represent theScore as an expert across North American radio and television. Read more/apply

HEALTH & WELLNESS WRITERS – Elite Daily is hiring part-time writers with 2+ years’ experience to contribute health and wellness content. These are remote writing jobs and while you can write from anywhere, you must be available to commit to at least three days per week during either 9 pm to 4 pm or 11am to 6 pm EST. You should have a strong voice, ability to pitch, brainstorm, and write about topics/angles related to health and wellness, and have a proven ability to work with experts to gather quotes on tight deadlines. GAME STORY WRITER – Funkitron is hiring a writer for a casual game with heavy narrative emphasis. You will be required to help create the story structure, narrative and dialogue for different modules of the game. To be considered for this remote writing job, you must be knowledgeable about story structure and TV and movie dialogue. Experience in the gaming industry and TV series writing is a plus. FREELANCE LUXURY WRITERS – TheRichest.com is looking for freelance writers to contribute list-based articles on everything from celebrities to luxury cars and all things luxury in between. This is a remote writing job for a freelance writer that knows what’s trending and is able to write eye-catching content that people crave. Read more/apply

BEAUTY CONTENT EDITORS AND PROOFERS – An unnamed online beauty publication has various editing, proofing jobs available for English language natives with a degree in English or Journalism. You must be able to work in a fast-paced online setting and juggle multiple projects and tight deadlines. For the beauty editor position, you must have experience working with fashion publications. Canadian Writing Jobs (On-Site Jobs for Writers in Canada ONLY)

PART-TIME COPY EDITOR – theScore Inc. is hiring a part-time copy editor to work in their downtown Toronto, Ontario office. A degree in journalism is preferred and you must have experience as a copy editor in a post-secondary or professional newsroom setting. Flexibility in scheduling and availability nights and weekends is also required, along with extensive sports knowledge. Read more/apply

COPYWRITER – Green Integrations Canada is hiring a temporary copywriter to work in their Hamilton, Ontario office. You must have proven experience as a copywriter or related role, knowledge of online content strategy and creation, and excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills to be considered for this Canadian writing job. ONLINE MARKETING / CONTENT WRITER INTERN – Evenset Inc. in Toronto, Ontario is looking for an intern to help expand its outreach to potential clients locally and internationally. The pay is $2,200 per month. To be considered for this writing opportunity, you must be currently studying or an undergraduate degree in Management, Marketing, Marketing Research, Business or related field. NEWS REPORTER – Golden West Radio in Swift Current, Saskatchewan is hiring a news reporter to work in their radio newsroom. You will be required to arrange and conduct interviews and write news stories for publication and broadcast. Read more/apply

FINANCIAL COPYWRITER – A Vancouver-based company is hiring an experience copywriter to write about investing and financial topics. The pay is $18 to $22, commensurate with experience. You must have demonstrated experience and understanding of financial concepts and writing clear and concise articles. This is a part-time writing job of 20-30 hours per week based out of their downtown Vancouver office with the potential to work remotely in the future. Read more/apply

Calls for Submissions

LampLight – A literary magazine of dark fiction, they accept short stories and flash fiction that are dark, creepy, weird, and unsettling. No stories with vampires, zombies, serial killers, werewolves, hitmen, revenge fantasies, cannibals, high fantasy, or excessive gore or abuse against women.

Payment for u published fiction is 3 cents per word to a $150.00 maximum. Reprints pay 1 cent per word. The current reading period ends June 15, so you’ll want to get a jump on it!

Nexis Fantasys – This anthology’s theme title is “Corporate Shadows” and inspired by the recent net neutrality rulings. They’re open to speculative fiction, suspense/thriller, supernatural/horror, or science fiction of 2,000 to 15,000 words.

Payment is 1 cent per word. Submissions close July 01, 2018.

Chicken Soup for the Soul – They have several books in development and are open to submissions. They prefer stories that are 1,200 words or less. The deadlines vary per title, so be sure to check the specifics of the book you’re interested in contributing to.
