weekend—not that weekends are really weekends for writers. How ‘bout you? Writing this weekend?

Today’s list is a big one with online writing jobs for those looking to write from home and some really great Canadian writing opportunities for writers based here in this beautiful country o’ mine. There are also a couple of calls for submissions for those of you who write short stories and poetry.

Remote Writing Jobs (Online / Work-from-Home Writing Jobs)

CONTENT WRITER – Harv Eker International is looking for a content writer with a great work ethic and excellent grasp of the English language. This is a flexible online writing job that allows you to work from home as long as you can meet deadlines. You’’’ be writing how-to content in areas such as mindset, success, entrepreneurship, leadership, etc. You must have a portfolio that demonstrates your exceptional writing skills. SEO and content writing experience is also required. Pays $200-$250 for 1,000-1,500 word article and $300 for 1,500-2,500 word article. Read more/apply

WORDPRESS BLOGGER – Word Candy is hiring a WordPress blogger with professional writing experience to create unique WordPress-related content. This is a remote writing job that pays $15 per hour for 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday. FREELANCE SCRIPT WRITER – Filmless is looking for flexible, creative freelance copywriters to write, edit and review vide scripts. WEEKEND WEB WRITER – CBC/Radio Canada is hiring a weekend web writer to work in Vancouver, Canada. The job entails selecting CBC stories and writing material for presentation online for regional websites. CREATIVE WRITER – Rogers is hiring a creative writer to work in London, Ontario. This Canadian writing job entails creating spots for a wide range of clients from conception to completion. Must be able to write great scrips, prepare and schedule creative instructions in the Wide Orbit traffic system. Calls for Submissions

RATTLE – A publication of the Rattle Foundation, Rattle published unsolicited poetry and translations of poetry. You can submit year-round and simultaneous submissions are encouraged. Payment is $100 per poem and a complimentary one-year subscription to the magazine. Online contributors are paid $50 per poem. All submissions are automatically considered for the annual Neil Postman Award for Metaphor, a $1,000 prize judged by the editors.

EVENT POETRY AND PROSE – Event is looking for fiction, poetry, and reviews. You can submit up to eight poems, or one short story/essay (max 5,000 words), at a time. They want fiction with compelling characters and plots that surprise and narrates that move. Poetry should be lyrical without being overwrought and profound but not pretentious. Payment is $25 per page.
