Happy first day of fall!

No talk of pumpkin spice everything here. No time for that—not that I don’t love it all, though. I’m happy that this insanely busy week is finally coming to an end. Hope it was a productive one for you, too.

Today’s writing jobs list has it all: online writing jobs for freelancers who want to work from home, onsite Canadian writing jobs for my fellow canucks, and I even managed to get some calls for submissions on the list.

Remote Writing Jobs (Work-from-Home / Online Writing Jobs)

REMOTE FULL-TIME STAFF WRITER – Zapier is hiring a writer with at least 2 years of experience writing and editing online content related to technology or apps/software. This is a remote writing job that can be done from anywhere in the world. Duties will include writing or updating long and short-form content, social media promotion, SEO writing and keyword research, and more. Read more/apply

PART-TIME NEWS WRITER – Elite Daily is hiring a part-time writer to cover politics and social news. This is a remote writing job. To be considering for this online writing job you must be available Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10am to 5pm EST. CONTENT WRITERS – SurveyMe is hiring content writers to fill remote online writing positions. You must have experience as a content writer or copywriter, a portfolio of published articles, and strong SEO and research skills. FREELANCE REPORTERS – WeedMap is hiring remote freelance reporters with a strong journalism background to write for Marajuana.com. You must have experience reporting on politics, law, social issues, or developments in the medical, consumers, and business industries. HISTORY OR SCIENCE WRITER – Backyard Media is hiring content creators to write articles for INSH. This is a remote freelance writing job that pays a fixed rate per article. You will be required to research and write interesting facts and stories on assigned topics, witty headlines and titles and descriptions. CONTENT WRITER – Geotab in Oakville, Ontario, is hiring a content writer to work in-office. You will produce, create, and research content related t telematics, IoT, connected vehicles, and all relevant topics to the company. You must have a BA in a relevant field, 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role, and experience writing for various web formats, including content marketing and SEO. Read more/apply

JUNIOR WRITER – The Edge – A Leader’s Magazine, is looking for a creative and engaging writer to contribute to their online and print magazine. You must be able to write and edit in Canadian English and have experience as a digital writer, editor, or journalist. You must also have SEO experience. Calls for Submissions

AMERICAN PSYCHOS: A SERIAL KILLER ANTHOLOGY – Red Room Press is looking for stories for a new dark crime/thriller/horror anthology, American Psychos: A Serial Killer Anthology. Stories must be about a serial killer and can be based on a real serial killer or a fictional serial killer. Stories should primarily be set in the USA, but the character may travel abroad. They want stories that are brutal, graphic, disturbing and violent. Serial killers must be human; no supernatural elements, monsters, or vampires. Stories should be 3500-5500 words and submitted by October 1, 2018. Payment for original stories is $100.

ROOM MAGAZINE – They are currently open to submissions of fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and art on any subject for their spring 2019 issue by women (cisgender and transgender), transgender men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people. We specifically encourage writers with overlapping under-represented identities to submit their work. The deadline to submit to submit for this issue is October 31, 2018. Payment is made upon publication: $50 CAD for one page, $60 for two pages, $90 for three pages, $120 for four pages, $150 for five or more pages.
