As always, the list begins with remote freelance writing jobs for writers anywhere in the world, followed by some Canadian writing jobs for my fellow canucks. The list ends with calls for submissions for authors and poets.

Remote Writing Jobs (Work-from-Home / Online Writing Jobs)

GARDENING WRITERS – Gardener’s Path is looking for highly experienced garden writers for guides and quality photos. They want horticulturists, master gardeners, serious home gardeners, agricultural specialists, homesteaders, and any other writers who have academic or hands-on experience. This freelance writing job is open to writers in the US, UK, or Canada. Read more/apply

FREELANCE WRITERS – ShoutVox is hiring freelance writers for content on a wide range of topics, from tech and finance to entertainment and pop culture. These are online writing jobs so you can work from anywhere. Must have a reliable internet connection and basic research skills. Pay is $0.06 per word. Ad claims this averages $18-$30 per hour. SENIOR CARE WRITERS – KO Media LLC is hiring writers to create long form content for the senior care niche. You must be able to write in-depth, well researched articles with citations and provide at least 3 samples of your work along with your preferred contract rate. Read more/apply

CELEBRITY WRITER – Elite Daily needs a writer with at least 1+ years of experience in reporting, writing, and/or blogging to cover all things music and celebrity. This is a part-time remote writing job from home, Tuesday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. Duties include writing 3 articles per day, and finding and pitching stories. Read more/apply

GOLF WRITER – Skilled Golf is looking for an expert golf writer to help grow their site. You must be a true expert with a passion for golf. To be considered for this remote writing job you must have 2+ years’ writing experience and golf-related writing samples. Pay is 6 cents per word. FREELANCE FOOD WRITER – The Social Media Pantry is hiring a writer for blog posts and social media content on food and beverage topics. TRAVEL WRITER – Elite Daily is hiring a part-time travel writer with a background in travel writing. This is a remote writing job. COMMERCE WRITER – Bustle is hiring a remote commerce writer to create affiliate content for all of their digital channels. You must be available to work remotely 2-3 days per week during business hours, M-F , have 3+ years of editorial or copywriting experience and previous CMS experience. Canadian Writing Jobs (Onsite Jobs for Writers in Canada ONLY)

FREELANCE FASHION WRITER – MysteryLabel, a fashion AI startup in Vancouver, BC, is hiring a contract writer to create fashion content for their website. To be considered for the contact Canadian writing job you must be able to pitch article topics and write at least one approved, original fashion article per week including images and videos. SPORTS REPORTER/PHOTOGRAPHER – The Brandon Sun in Brandon, MB, is hiring a full-time reporter/photographer for their sports department. This Canadian writing and reporting job requires superior sports writing and strong news judgment, varied sports knowledge and/or experience, and a degree or diploma in journalism or related experience. CONTENT WRITER (NATURAL HEALTH) – AlgaeCal in Vancouver, BC, is hiring an experience content writer. This can be an onsite or remote Canadian writing job. You will have the option to work from their office in Yaletown, or from home from 8 am to 4 pm PST after a two-week training period in the office. You must have direct response writing experience, the ability to understand scientific papers and summarize findings for the layperson, and exceptional writing and editing skills. subTerrain magazine is accepting submissions for a Special Sci-Fi Issue

A House Made of Dawn

(Visions of the Cultural Ramifications of Current and Future Trends in Digital Technologies)
Guest Editor: Oliver Hockenhull

4 “Feature Pieces” will be selected from the work submitted and those authors will receive a payment of $750 for their contribution; other works accepted for the issue will receive the regular subTerrain publication rates: Prose – $50/pg (to a max of $400) and $50 per poem.

The purpose of this thematic issue of subTerrain is to code readers into ecstatic dream worlds that are around the bend of the collective mind. It is to be a searching for a new cosmological culture amongst the Ones and Zeros of the near and farther future.

Accepted submissions will be published in subTerrain’s Spring 2020 issue and be included in a special interactive epub.

GUIDELINES:

The word limit for submissions:

Essays 7,000 max.

Fiction: 5,000

Poetry: 100 lines

All work submitted must be original and previously unpublished; you are welcome to post your work online, for example on an institutional or personal site only after the initial publication in subTerrain. All work published in this special issue of subTerrain is to be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal. The work is to be published in paper and as an inclusion in an ePublication.
