Today’s list is a meaty one with online writing jobs open to writers anywhere and some great remote and in-house writing opportunities for my fellow Canadian writers. There’s also a call for fantasy fiction submissions to round things off.

Remote Writing Jobs (Online / Work-from-Home Writing Jobs)

FOOD NEWS WRITERS – Mashed is looking for remote freelance food news writers who are self-sufficient, versatile, and creative. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience writing content for print or the web with a focus on food, cooking, and grocery shopping content similar to Mashed. CURRICULUM WRITER (CANADA OR USA ONLY) – Mujo Learning is hiring an experienced curriculum writer and researcher to conduct research and interviews and write and edit curriculum, as well as writing and editing blog posts and social media content. At least 3 years’ professional writing and editing experience writing and editing curriculum required. This is a fully remote online writing job open to writers in Canada and USA only. Canadian Writing Jobs (Jobs for Writers in Canada ONLY)

PRODUCTION COPYWRITER – OneNet Inc. in Victoria, BC is hiring a copywriter to write long-form copy for web pages, blog posts and marketing materials, such as presentations, PDFs & whitepapers. You should have a college or university diploma or degree in Business or English, and/or 3+ years of experience in copywriting and design, a basic understanding of conversion rate optimization, and experience working inside of content management systems. B2B FREELANCE COPYWRITERS – Stretch Creative Inc. is hiring freelance copywriters to craft product descriptions and product titles for our enterprise client in the industrial goods sector. This is a remote writing job open only to Canadian residents with a minimum of two years of writing experience. You must be able to commit a minimum of 4 hours per day, 4 to 5 days per week. CONTENT WRITER – HousingEZ Inc. in Concord, ON is hiring a content writer to assist with a sales campaign. The original job posting is pretty vague with the only other details being that this is a remote content writing job that pays $15 to $30 per hour. Read more/apply

REAL ESTATE COPYWRITER – Creative Points, a marketing, and digital agency in Mississauga, ON is looking for an experienced Copywriter to create content for a client. This is a part-time writing job working 10 hours per week. Pay is $35 per hour. Content writing will include writing business related blogs, covering real estate related news and monitoring website content for SEO best practices and optimization. Experience with writing in real estate would be ideal. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position required. Read more/apply

Call for Submissions

PODCASTLE – PodCastle, which publishes in print and audio, is looking for fantasy fiction and are open to all the sub-genres of fantasy, from magical realism to urban fantasy to slipstream to high fantasy, and everything in between. Fantastical or non-real content should be meaningful to the story.

Word count limit is 6,000, but their “sweet spot” length is between 3,000 and 4,500 words.

They pay $0.08 per word USD for original fiction, $100 flat rate for reprints over 1,500 words, and $20 flat rate for flash fiction reprints (stories below 1,500 words).
