I’m on coffee number two on this chilly fall morning and feelin’ extra perky. Hope you’re all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. If not, there’s always coffee or any other legal addictive stimulant that tickles your fancy!

Today’s list is a good one with lots of remote online writing jobs open to writers in any location, as well as some remote and in-house Canadian writing opportunities. I have also included a couple of calls for submissions.

CONTENT WRITERS – B6 in Toronto, ON is looking to hire content writers for a new startup company based in Toronto and the GTA. The content is social media, news, and listing based. These are primarily remote online writing jobs, but you may be asked to visit locations in the city on occasion. Calls for Submissions

CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL – The popular series is calling out writers under the age of 35 for their special anniversary Preteens and Teens collections.

They’re looking for first-person stories about something that happened to you or those close to you.

Some topic suggestions include:

  • Dealing with the pandemic  how COVID changed your life
  • Zoom schooling or home schooling
  • Lack of contact with friends because of COVID
  • Dealing with tough stuff – being teased or bullied or confronting the bully
  • Acts of kindness
  • Teachers, parents, coaches, and friends who gave you guidance
  • Embarrassing moments and funny stories
  • First crushes
  • How technology influences your life  texting, FaceTime, social media, and emailing
  • Body image and eating disorders
  • Being an immigrant
  • Going through puberty

Stories should be under 1,200 words and submitted by December 15, 2020.

Payment of $200 is made one month after publication. You also get 10 copies of the book your story is published in.
